Dog Days of Summer
Fluke, Sea Bass, Blackfish, Bluefish, Tuna, Scup and soon to be steady Albacore are making their mark. Sea Bass have been plentiful and big this year and are fantastic table fare! Fluke fishing has been consistent and Albies just started to make an appearance. Not long before they stay put for a couple of weeks and make it worth a trip. The tuna has been sporadic at best and as the bait gets settled, they will settle as well. The picture above was from Ed Gotovich going solo on a nice Tuna that was successfully released. Block Island has been producing steady 30+ pound bass as well as some of the biggest blues of the season. Pre Dawn is the key and I know the door it opens! Get your rest... you will need it!
Tight lines,
Capt. Patterson
