Over this past weekend I was able to find some nice pods of Bonito along the RI shoreline.  There have been reports over the past few weeks but no real solid numbers.  Fly fisherman may have an advantage as the bait is really small as you can see from the picture above.  That is only about 2 inches!  Small lures may also produce but the wind may impact casting. 

Block Island has slowed a little over the past week as Newport gets better each day.  No more 2:30 am departures for me!
